As part of the Bridges4Health project – a regional platform for innovation in life and health sciences in Northern Portugal – the Porto Vibrational Biospectroscopy Symposium (PVBS 2026) will take place from September 23 to 25, 2026.
Organized by the Applied Biomolecular Sciences Unit (UCIBIO) at the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Porto, the event is positioned as a strategic initiative, creating a meeting point between academia, industry, and the clinical sector. It aims to foster interdisciplinary collaboration and facilitate knowledge transfer.
The symposium will be held at the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Porto, in Porto, and will bring together international experts in vibrational spectroscopy (FTIR, Raman, nano-FTIR, O-PTIR), data science, and artificial intelligence. The focus will be on the application of these technologies in real-world contexts, particularly in clinical diagnostics, microbiology, food safety, and animal health. By strengthening the links between research, industry, and healthcare systems, PVBS 2026 will promote knowledge transfer and contribute to the consolidation of the Health Sciences ecosystem in Northern Portugal, while also enhancing the region’s international visibility, in line with the mission of Bridges4Health.
